BOWLING TOURNAMENT.

GOOD PLAY BY WELLINGTON MEN. CHRIST OBTJRCH, January 23. This morning tho concluding scene of tho bowling tournament was begun on tho Christchurch green, where the finals of the tournaments that bad been proceeding for the past four days were played. The green was in very good order. The final of the Doubles Championship was disappointing, Churchward* and Webb beating Simmers and Rowley very easily by 30 points to 11. At the seventh head tho score was 12— i, in favour of tho ultimate winners, and at tho fourteenth head 19—9 was recorded. Churchward and Webb continued to score freely, and their opponents resigned at the twontietu head with tho scare of 30—11. Louisson and Bishop played off with Tisch and Scagcr for third prize, and another runaway game resulted, Bishop winning by 21 to 13. At the eighth head tho score was B—s. in favour of Tisch and Soager, but from that out they lost ground steadily, and were beaten as stated. Tlio final of tho Consolation Rink Match between Oamaru (Martin) and Jvaitnna (Sneddon) was a fino game. Sneddon scored 2 and suffered defeat by 2 points. Tho Singles Championship was decided in tho afternoon. At the last head play was very close, and with Bell lying 1 Gow made a good but unsuccessful attempt to drive bis opponent’s ball out of position, leaving 801 l to win by 2 points. .Scores:— Champion Rinks.—Pinal: Victoria (John Brackcnridge.
