THE MURRAY RIVER.

ADELAIDE, December 26. In his letter to Sir- Edmund Barton, federal Premier, regarding the report of the Murray Waters Commission, Mr Jenkins, State Premier, complains that if the Commission’s report bo adopted it will bo a contravention of tho constitution of tho Commonwealth. It will, ho adds, render tho Murray unnavigablo for fivo months of the year, and so reduce the volume of water that settlements on the hanks of tho river will bo ruined.
