In consequence of tho maritime strike tho steamer Austral took the bulk of tho Armand Bchic’s Australian mails and a hundred of her passengers. Several French companies arc laying up their vessels. THE DEMANDS OF THE SCOTTISH MINERS. (Received November 29, 8 p.m.) LONDON, November 28, In the case in which seventy thousand miners demanded an increase of wages, the arbitrators have awarded the miners in. the western part of Scotland 61 per cent, advance, and those of tho eastern districts 3$ per cent., with a view of equalising the districts.
