rr.F.SS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, November 27. At the Supremo Court to-day, Joseph Brown and Ills wife, Jjilia Brown, were found guilty of the false registration of the birth of a child, and were each sentenced to the maximum penalty of two years’ imprisonment. The evidence showed that tho accused had obtained the child from its mother and registered it in their own name, the motive being to obtain money frnn a man who war, charged by Mrs Brown with being tho father. It was shown that the Browns had blackmailed this person to the extent of £l5O.
