In it I have spent my life, and to the educational advantages it offers to each young colonial I owe anything I have achieved. If, with your support, I gain the honour of sharing in the government of my native land, I shall esteem it the crowning distinction of my life, an honour which, I shall feel, demands from me, in the interests of my country, the best industry, skill and attention of which lam capable. I support tho policy of the present Government, feeling convinced, as I do, that a careful and courageous pursuit of ( that policy spells security with further prosperity. 1 have the honour to be.
