Sitting upon a cold or damp surface, the partaking of highly spiced or hot foods, or the failure to keep certain parts of the body in a clean condition, are apt to bring about piles. Although surgery has made wonderful strides, medicine has superseded it as far as piles are concerned. No one whoso bowels work with regularity, whose liver is in a healthy state and whose system is cool, can possibly suffer from piles.
