ACCIDENTS.
The Secretary of the General Post Office reeived the following telegram on Saturday from the Chief Postmaster at Timaru: —"Orari reports that the mail from Geraldine failed to reach Orari this morning. River is in flood. The postmaster at Geraldton wires me:— ‘ Just informed that coach washed down Waihi creek, and three or four people lost.’ ” PEESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN, March 8. A private telegram received here states that a woman and girl had been drowned in the accident to the Geraldine coach. TIMARU, March 8. Mrs Jones, widow of tho late Mr James Jones, of this town, was drowned at Albury yesterday. Her horse and trap were washed down the river by a flood, and struck against a bridge. A hoy who was with her clambered on to the bridge, but Mrs Jones missed her footing, and was carried down the stream.
