PHF.S3 ASSOCIATION. HAMILTON, October 24. The Waikato A. and P. Show was held on Wednesday and Thursday on the show ground at Claudelands. The horse classes had fewer representatives than in former years, duo largely to the number recently sold out •of the district. Following are the principal awards: Thoroughbreds—Best ’ entire any age, first and champion, Leolantis; best entire four years and upwards, Marshall’s Leolantis 1, McMacken’s St. Hippo 2, R. Hanson’s St. Crispin h.c.; best marc with foal at foot, R. McMacken’s Grey Nelly; best roadster or hackney stallion, Merryboy 1, Pleasant Tim 2. Draughts—Marshall’s Lord Elderslie. 1 and champion, Gip 2; bos.t heavy draught entire, any ago, Marshall’s Lord Elderslie 1, W. Taylor’s Field Marshal 2. Cattle—Best bull any ago, Land As_ seciation’s Duke of Manchester (by Red Prince—Duchess of Manchester) champion ; best c6w or heifer, Land Asscciation’s Rose of Ormond; best bull calved since July 1, 1899, Land Association’s To Ante Duke 11. 1, W. Taylor’s Leo 11. 2. Pedigree Hereford.? —Best bull any age, Williams’s Loafer 1 and champion; best bull, three years and over, Tho Loafer 1, Williams’s Sir Benjamin 2. Pedigree Angus, champion certificate, best bull any ago. Alex. Atkins’s Mercury; champion certificate, best cow or beifer, Alexander Atkins’s Vista. Tho same exhibitor took all the prizes offered in this class. Pedigree Jerseys—Champion certificate, best bull, F. L. Wright’s Sweet William; champion certificate, best cow, C. Day’s Sweet Violet; best bull calved'since July 1, 1900, C. Day 1,2 and h.c. McNicol Memorial trophy, for best Jersey cow in milk or in calf , (eight entries), C. Day’s Sweet Violet 1. Fat cattle—Best fat ox any age. New Zealand Land Association 1, W. Taylor 2, W. Taylor h.c. Lincoln sheep—Champion certificate, beat ram any age, C. J. Storey; do for best ewe, C. J. Southdowns—Best ram under eighteen months, T. C. Williams 1 and 2. Tho opinion amongst experts was that the exhibits of stock would be difficult to beat in any part of tho colony.
