PEARCE’S BOOT MART.
The'boot mart of Mr Pearce, in Cuba street, baa lately been altered and fitted up in a manner that has transformed it into one of the beet retail shop* in the city. .The whole of the frontage of the old shop was removed, and in its place a new front with two very large plate gjass windows, which cbver the whole width of the building, has been set up. The doorway is set back to the depth of the windows, and the latter are continued in a curve up to. the door —an arrangement which in a great measure improves the facilities'for.'making striking displays of goods. Inside the windows the fittings are of the latest and most improved pat--1 tern; the bookstands and rests of white metal serving to show off to best ad van. tage the leather wares which they sup. port. The’general display in the window is a striking one, the goods being all of best workmanship and finish. The ver. andah which shelters the window from the sun's rays is well designed, ‘it having a skilful arrangement of glass in it which while allowing a good light to fall upon the shop, yet prevents the sun from ahin. ing directly rmon the window. The building is undoubtedly an ornament to the street in which it stands.
