Captain Allman leaves to-day for Sydney by the Monowai to inspect a new and up-to-date vessel under offer to the Golden Bay and Sounds Steamship Com. pany. The vessel has accommodation tor thirty passengers, and according to information received by the local agents, is suitable in every way for the trade she is required for. ’ , It is understood that conditonal arrangements have been made bv a syndicate in the South Island for the purchase of the steamer Te Kapn, now trading to the Sounds, and belonging to the Golden Bay and Sounds Steamship Company,. The Mararoa arrived yesterday morning from) Auckland and East Coast with 173 tons of cargo. She had on board 137 toils for Southern ports. The Union Steam Ship Company has arranged to despatch the steamer Waikare from Sydney on January 4th, calling at Wellington, and finally leaving from Dunedin on January 'l3th, on the annual trip to the famed Sounds of the West Coast.
