A DRUNKEN MONKEY STORY
. A Longchamps racing party g r * w merry (gays the “Telegraph”) and met with a monkey on the road- They bought the monkey. A halt waa made at a cafe and Jacko waa treated to a drink. Soon he became ao lively that he had to betied to ji leg of the table. During the repast the cord snapped, and the monkey mined about the' room in a fraptic manner. The dinner lorvico was reduced to a complete wreck. Broken plates, glasses and bcttleg gtrowe* the erstwhile convivial board, and tpw horrified landlord put them all oh the bill- The voung men were unwilling to pay, and the police had to be appealed to. The commissary decided that the proprietor should be paid, and so pained were the revellers at the thought of shelling out that they got level with the landlord by presenting him with the destructive monkey as well.
