DUNEDIN, August 20. • A caso in which great interest was taken by all connected with dredging was concluded in the Supremo Court to-day, after extending over three days. The caso was brought by Cuttcn Bros., consulting engineers, versus the Globe Gold Dredging Company, to recover £ll3 8s 6d, commission. A counter claim was put in. Cutteu Bros, had engaged to, prepare plans for removal and re.erection of a current wheel dredgo. Afterwards it was converted into a steam dredgo. The counter claim was for alleged negligoncs on the part of plaintiffs, whereby defendants suffered to the extent of £450. which sum was claimed. The alleged negligence included the delaying of the plans by which was time was lost, want of proper supervision, and not including various things in tho specifications. It was stated that tho engineers had declined to give evidence for tine defendants. The jury gave a verdict for the Globe Com., pany in the claim and counter claim, giving £5 damages in the latter. Judgment was entered Up with costs, but execution was stayed for ten_days, in order to move for a new trial, on the ground that the verdict was against the weight of evidence.-
