ADVANCES TO FARMERS.
Received August 21, 0.17 a.m.j . MELBOURNE, August 20. The public has subscribed a little over £20,000 tsf the £IOO,OOO 3 per cent. Government guaranteed debentures on account of the Savings Bank Commissioners to be ushd for advances to farmers. The balance will be allotted by the Commissioners at a minimum of £96. The whole loan averaged £96 0s lljd.
