Mr G. H. Swan, who has resided in Napier for forty veal's, during fifteen years of which period he was Mayor, is about to leave Hawke’s Bay to reside at llawera. Mr J. G. Harkncss, president of the National Dairy Ac.sc«vition of Now Zealand, Limited, is i#;'present in Web lingtnn in connection with the work of the association. Mrs Henry Howorth died on Monday afternoon at her residence in Hawkeatono street, after a short illness. De= ceased arrived iu Otago with her husband, Mr Henry Howorth, the wellknown barrister, in tho ship Strath, more in 1856. Mrs Amelias Smith and Mrs F. Waldegravo aro daughters of tho deceased lady.
