(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) Monday, 7 p.mOn 0 0 f the early settler** of Wood, v ill© district, James Lawrence, died this morning. Deceased, who was sixty years old, leaves a large family. Mr W. Buddick, the popular proprietor of (he railway refreshment rooms, is nther seriously ill from inflammation of the lungs. A meeting of the promoters of the now county on Saturday delimited four ridings, for which there will be two members each. An election will bo held shortly. Mr W. Nicholson, formerly county clerk at Waipawa, has been ap. pointed acting-clerk to the new county. A hearty vote of thanks was accorded Mr O’Meara for his services in getting the Bill through tho House.
