LONDON, August 4. In the House of Commons a motion was tabled by Mr C. E. Hobhouse, Liberal member for Bristol, for reduction of Mr Chamberlain’s salary. The motion was withdrawn by the mover, but was put at. tho instance of Mr J. Dillon, Nationalist member for East Mayo, and negatived by 15-1 votes against 70. THE LIBERTY PARTY. LONDON, August- 4. The “Daily News” of Saturday, referring to the previous day’s proceedings in the Hous e of Commons, says the front Opposition bench was empty. The Liberal party, deserted and enfeebled, has reached the last stagee of humiliation.
