THE PACIFIC CABLE.
(Received August 6, 0.10 a.m.) OTTAWA, August 5. Canada i s so anxious for the consummation of tho great Imperial project that she has waived the objection raised by her in connection with the Pacific cable, although it is still contended that the privileges granted by Now South Wales to the Eastern Extension Company are inimical to the future of tho Pacific scheme. Tho Aot passed by the Legislature last session dealing with tho cable is to be promulgated, and the Dominion announces her readiness to pay fiveeighteenths of tho cost.
