The Customs returns for yesterday Era cunted to £1648 8s 3d. Messrs Laery and Co., Limited, report the following wholesale selling prices on the Wellington produce market; Wheat. 2s lOd to 3s; oats, 2s to 2s 3d; maize, 3s Id; pollard, £5; bran. £4 os; partridge peas, 3s lOd; chaff, £3 ss; hay, £4 10s; potatoes, £4 10s to £5 10s; early seed potatoes, £5 to £6 10s ; butter, pastry 7d to Bd, choice 9d to lOd; bacon, 6d to 6Jd; hams, to 7^d; fowls, 2s 9d to 3s; roosters, bo 6d; ducks, 4s to 4s 6d; turkeys, hens 6s to 7s, gobblers, 8s to 10s; geese, 5s to 6s 6d; fresh eggs. Is Id to Is 3d, limed Is; pears, cooking 6s to Bs, dessert 6s to 10s; apples, cooking 6s 6d to 8s 6d, dessert 7s to 9s 6d; pie melons, 3s 6d per cwt.; cauliflowers, 3s 6d to 7s 6d per sack; cabbages, 6d to 2s per sack; walnuts, 5d to 6d per lb; pumpkins, 2s to 3s 6d per sack; celery, Is 6d to 2s 6d per dozen; marrows, 3s 6d per sack. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Limited, has received the following cable from its London house, dated the' 10th inst'; Wool.—Since the opening pf the sales, there is more spirit amongst the buyers ; the American .demand having increased. The prices of superior greasy merino are now on a level with last sale’s closing rates, while the market for coarse crossbred is firmer. Wheat and flour—The market is depressed, average New Zealand wheat being worth 28s and long-berried 29s per 4961 b. Oats—The market for oats is dull, New Zealand pats being worth 3s lid per bushel in granary.
