NEW YORK, Juno 26. The flood, caused by the burstihg of a cloud and breaking of a dam in Virginia did appalling damage in the Elkhorn Valley. t Numerous bodies were disinterred in the Rolff cemetery, causing an exaggerated idea of the number of fatalities. The miner* at Algonia, standing up to their waists in water, rescued twentythree women and children who were float ing past. Several negro plunderers were. shot. A flood destroyed the railway trestle bridge over the Wabash river, in Indiana, and a passenger train plunged into the abyss. Fifteen people were killed.
