AITKEN, Mayor. 11th June, 1901. ' 435 WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. TRAFFIC ARRANGEMENTS DURING THE ROYAL VISIT. TRAMWAYS. ON TUESDAY, 18th JUNE, the service will start at the usual time, continuing right through to Thorndon until 8.40 a.m. from Newtown, the last ( 'ar iu)in Thorndon leaving the Government Buildings at 9.30 a.m. ... Cars will then run from Newtown to tne Royal Oak Corner in Manners street, and to the top of Cuba street. During the afternoon ALL cars will run via Courtenay place to the Royal Oak On WEDNESDAY and THURSDAY cars will run between 'Newtown and Thorndon during the day, starting at usual time. On FRIDAY, cars will also start as usual but will'not run beyond th„ Government Buildings after ’11.20 a.m and until the Hoyal party has returned from the laying of the Foundation Stone of the Railway Offices. . ’ In the afternoon cars will not run past Martin’s Fountain for 'Thorndon between the hours of three and live, the last through car leaving Newtown at 2.5 p.m., and Thorndon at 2.-15 p.m. From TUESDAY to FRIDAY included, all cars Svill run via Courtenay place throughout each day and evening, except the service to top of Cuba street on TUESDAY MORNING, and will not run beyond the Royal Oak Corner in tbc evenings unless it is considered safe to do so. GENERAL VEHICLE TRAFFIC. TUESDAY, 18th JUNE, no vehicular traffic will be allowed after 10 "a.m. in any of the undermentioned streets:-—Jervois quay, Cuba street. Ingestre street. Manners street, Willis street from Ingestre street to where it joins Customhouse quay. Lambton quay, Charlotte street, Sydney street. Museum street, and Bowen street.' Willis street above the Albert Hotel and Ingestre street, will "be open-for traffic after 12 o’clock. On FRIDAY, 21st JUNE, betweenthe hours of 2 and 5 'p.m., the following streets will be closed for traffic:—Lambton quay, Grey street. Post Office square Feather-ston street from Johnston street to Railway Station. Customhouse quay from Johnston street to Railway Station. Bowen street, Whitmore street, and Bunny street. ' No vehicles of any description will be allowed to draw un in any side street, within 30 yards of dhe street through which the procession passes. RECEPTION AT GOVERNMENT HOUSE. NOTICE TO DRIVERS. 1 All drivers of carriages to the Reception at Government House on the evening' of TUESDAY, the 18th instant, must proceed and return by way of Sydney street. Carriages from Newtown and Te Aro, and the southern portion of 'the city must proceed and return by way of Taranaki street, Victoria street, Hunter street, Featherston street and Sydney street. 1 ’ RECEPTION AT PARLIAMENT HOUSE. NOTICE TO DRIVERS. • All drivers of carriages to the Town Hall Foundation Stone Ceremony on TUESDAY, 18th instant, must proceed and “return from the north by way of Featherston street, Hunter street, Victoria street, to the west end of 'Mercer street. Carriages from Newtown and Te Aro. and the southern portion of the city, must proceed and return by way of Taranaki street and Victoria‘street to the west end of Mercer street.
