The Croydon County Council hare decided to purchase for £ 15.000 maming 45 acres of the beautifully wooded height, known as Oroham Hurst. The whole 80 acres has now been secured to the public for ever. An additional 43 acres are - being added to BrcKskwell Park, Heme Hill, at an outlay of £W,7 °Mrs Brown, of 'Market Harborougb, recently celebrated her 102nd birthday - Mrs Harris, of Chepstow, who wm the oldest woman in Monmouthshire, fees just died at the age of 104. She was married three times.
