A man named Coquard, Jiving at Sainte Savinet, near Troyes, who is wanted by the gendarmes for a number of robberies, took refuge in a loft in Ids house, and shut himself in with a supply ■of arras and ammunition, threatening to shoot alb who approached. He fired at and wounded two persons, while another, vho attempted to parley with him, was shot dead. The authorities are at a loss what to do in order to capture Coquard. f
