CAPTURE OF AGUINALDO.

THE FILIPINO LEADER AM. BUSHED. END OF A LONG HUNT. LONDON, March 28. A cable message has been received ab New York stating “hat Aguinaldo. the leader of the Filipino insurgents, has been captured by the Americans witn his entire staff.

The capture is said to have taken place at Baler, cn the east coast of Luzon, the island on which the principal operations in the war have boon carried on. ■ _ It was accomplished by stratagem, the Maocabebes (apparently ah island tribe) pretending to betray an American colonel into the hands of the islanders, but instead putting the insurgent loaders into a situation in which they were at the mercy of their enemies. One of Aguiualdo’s officers introduced Colonel Furnstone and several Americans and natives to Aguinaldo’s presence, on the pretence that they were prisoners. The uarty then overwhelmed his staff, wounding sixteen, and carried Aguinaldo aboard a vessel. He is lodged in Manila Gaol. Aguinaldo is disposed to co-operate to end the war.
