The proprietors of the "New Zealand Mail" have pleasure in intimating- that they have been able tosecure, the rights of publication of a new serial story by an author whose novels have taken a high place in the literature of the day. As the,author of “'The Prisoner of Zenda,’’ "A Man of Mark/’ “Rujjert of Hentzau," and other popular works, Mr Anthony Hope has earned an abiding fame as a novelist. The story to be published in these columns is one of thrilling interest. It deals with an episode in the history of an ancient house.
