TOURNAMENT AT MIRAMAR. THIRD DAY’S PLAY. Several hundred people witnessed the polo tournament at Miramar yesterday. The weather was favourable. The northerly breeze was not sufficiently strong to interfere with the play beyond as. sisting the teams playing with it. The semi-final round for the Savil e Cup between Raiigitikei and Hawke’s Bay was a fast and exciting -game, and resulted in favour of Raiigitikei by three goals to two. The. teams were evenly .match, ed, and were on level terms when ibe final'spell of the game started. In the first spell Russel! stored for Hawke’s Bay from a scrum in front of the goalposts. Raiigitikei made repeated efforts to score, Dalrymple getting a " poster.'’ Raiigitikei. had the best of the second spell, and several shots at goal missed by the narrowest of margins. In the third spell Noel Wilson scored for Raiigitikei with a flying shot, which went through the posts high in the air. Ormond, who was playing the best game on the ground, missed a. good chance in front of the posts. In the, fourth spell Harold Russell registered the second goal for Hawke’s Bay a few minutes after play started, Dalrymple scored after following up with a long shot from near the centre of th a ground in the fifth spell. The last spell was fast and furious, the ponies travelling from one end of the ground to the other a. great many times. In the last few minutes Keiller hit the hall through the posts, amidst great excitement. When the gong sounded the final scores wore—Raiigitikei, three goals; Hawke’s Bay, two. The game was particularly fast, and the most in. foresting of the tournament. The teams were:—Raiigitikei—K. W. Dalrymple (1), W. A. Keillor {'/.) captain, R. A. Wilscn <3l, Noel Wilson (hack). Hawke’s Bay—J. D. Ormond (1), O. Nelson (2), H. A. Russell (3), W. Mackenzie (back).

Wellington A team mot Christchurch in the second round of the Cup Handicap. The visitors had slightly the best of the first .spell, but no score resulted. Clark .soared for Canterbury in the second spell. Wellington wore forced twice shortly after, and from a dribbling ru.sh in front of the posts the Canterbury team carried the hall through. Johnston was playing the host game for Iris .side, and scored the first goal for Wellington. O’Rorke scored in the fourth-spell from an easy hit in front of the posts, and a. few minutes later with a difficult baok-hander. The same player added to the Canterbury total in the fifth spell. Playing against the wind, Woodroffe hit the sixth" goal for Canterbury. The final scores .were— Wellington A (including seven goals handicap), eight goals ; Cliristchurcn tineluding one goal handicap), seven goals.’ The teams were Wellington A-—C. P. Skerrett (1), C. J. Crawford (2), 11. Johnston (3), D. G. A. Cooper (back), •Captain.. ■'Christchurch—E; I). O’Rorke (1), W. H. Woodroffe (2). R. H. Rhodes (3) captain, A. Clark (back). Messrs Allan. Strang and G. Bradley acted as umpires and Mr Harold Cooper was time-keeper.

The Handicap Cup match Hawke’s Bay v. Hawera will be played to-day at 3 o’clock.

The final for the Savile Cup, viz., Oroua, v. Rangitikei, will bo played at 2 p.ra. to-mon-ow, and the final for the Handicap Cu,p will bo played at 3.30 p.m. The competing teams for the latter competition will bo Wellington A y. the winner of tno match Hawera v.
