A Press Association telegram from Auckland states that Dr McArthur, acting S.M., in this city, has resigned his law lectureship at Auckland University College. The death is announced in English papers just to hand of Mrs William \ incont Wallace, widow of the distinguished composer of “Maritana. ’ The deceased lady died at Dublin at tho age of ninety-two. His Excellency the Governor is to leave Hawera. for Wellington 011 Monday, and will remain here during the Easter holidays. He will then make a driving tour through tho Eangitikei and Manawatu districts.
