WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. PROPOSED SPEBIAL LOAN. In the matter of jtlie;Tramways Act, 38Di, and of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900.: THE Council of the City of Wellington hereby gives public notice that such Council proposes to borrow by way of special loan within the meaning of the abovenamed Acts, the sum of Two Hundred and Twenty-five Thousand Pounds (j£225,0b0) for the purpose of constructing an Electric Tramway in the City of Wellington, with an extension of such tramway to Island Bay in the Borough of Melrose. And notice is hereby further given that the said Council proposes to secure the repayment of the said loan, and the. payment of the interest thereon, by a mortgage of the said tramway and the undertaking thereof, and the revenues, rents, tolls, issues and profits of such tramway and such undertaking. And proposes also to make, pledge, and permanently appropriate as further security for the said loan and the interest thereon, a special rate of twopence (2d) in the pound on the ratable value (on the basis of tbe annual value) of all ratable property within the City of Wellington. Anil_ the Council further proposes that the whole amount of the said loan shall be made repayable at the expiration of a torm of twenty years, computed from the date of the publication in ihe New Zea-

land Gazette of the statutory notice to the effect that allproceedings required by law to be taken in or towards obtaining the sanction of the electors to the present proposals have been duly taken, and that the resolution in favour of the said proposals has been duly carried. TSB Council of the City of Wellington; hereby gives public notice that such i Council proposes to borrow (by way of: Special Loan within the meaning of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900) the sum of Fifty-five Thousand Pounds, to be expended in paving the streets along the present tramway line with wooden blocks. The Council proposes to pledge a special rate of twopence in the pound on the ratable value (on the basis of annual value) of all ratable property in the city as security for the said loan," and the interest thereon. THE Council of the City of Wellington hereby gives public notice that such Council proposes to. borrow (by way of; Special Loan within the meaning of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900) the sum of Pifty Thousand Pounds, to bo expended in the erection of a Town Hall, and Municipal Offices on a site owned by the Corporation, situate at the corner ot Mercer street and Cuba street Extension, and that the Council proposes to pledge as security for the said Loan the net rents and profits to be derived from time to time from any letting to be made from time to time of the present Corporation Offices and Town Hall Site situate in Brandon and Featherston streets, and the buildings thereon, or any part of.such offices, site or building, mid from any letting from ‘time to time of the proposed Town Hall and Offices or any part thereof. _lt is proposed that the whole amount of the Loan shall be repayable at the expiration of a term of thirty years, computed from the raising of the Loan.
