The Takaka. correspondent of the “Mail” wires that on, Sunday morning at daybreak Constable Mackay was informed of the mysterious'• disappearance ot Mrs John Manson from her home at Motupipi- Search -parties were at onca formed, resulting in the discovery of the dead body of the woman in several feet of water in a creek about a mile from her house. The previous night was extremely dark and a strong northerly wind was blowing, accompanied by torrents of rain, which caused 1 the creek, which is generally dry, to be flooded. There was evidence of the deceased having taken carbolic in some form. Family feuds are said to he the cause of the act. CHRISTCHURCH, March. 25. : George Kennedy, aged thirty-five, barman at the Doyleston Hotel, died suddenly this morning. Apparently he was in good health last evening. AUCKLAND, March 25. A child aged three, the son of Mr Robert Badger, storekeeper, of Tauranga, was following a horse which his father was leading when the horse suddenly pulled back anfl fell on the child, which was seriously injured, and is in a critical condition. The body of a native named Kupo was found: on Sunday on the Ocean Beach, Tanxanga, near’ the Mount. It is believed that he drowned himself on the 16th inst. while temporarily insane.
