In the 100yds Handicap Hunter (Hawera) and McCullock (Takapan) dead heated. In the swim-off the former won, ■ Murphy, of the local Collegiate School, won the Long Dive Provincial Handicap. with Smith (Wellington) and Campbell. (Wanganui) filling the places. ‘ In the. 440yds Championship, H. Bailey (Wanganui), who swam an excellent race throughout, won in 7min ssec, A. Haywood (Wanganui) and O. Freyburg (Wellington) being close up second and third; The, iiOyds Handicap was an excellent race, i Samuel, (Wellington!, who re-cently-returned from South Africa, just beat J. T. Gray, of the Shamrock Hotel, i Wellington, by a touch, in 33sec. Hun- | tor (Hawera) was third. So close was the i finish that all si* .in the final were within a few feet of one another. Manv thought Samuel and .Gray were a dead heat, but tho Judge gave it a win on the post to the former. The 100yds Team Match was won bv the Wanganui Collegiate School team in 59sec. The Wellington team, comprising Wilkes, Gray, Freyburg and Richardson, only lost by a yard, with the Wanganui team a similar distance away third. In'the return polo match the Wellington team showed greatly improved form on Thursday’s performance, but had to play second fiddle to Wanganui, who scored two goals to their opponents’ one. A 100yds Championship Pace was added to the uro gramme, and , this Tyler (Dunedin) won in" 65aec, with Bailey (Wanganui) second and .Roberts (Wellington), third. ■
