' j DUNEDIN, March 22. | An offer will bo made by the Dunedin Club to hand over tho clubhouse and ; grounds for the use of the Duke and (Duchess of Cornwall during their visit. (Mrs Stephenson has agreed to place her house, immediately opposite the club, ■at the disposal of the Royal party. If .this should prove insufficient, Mr G. L. Denniston, whose residence adjoins, ’will place it at the disposal of the .party. The late Duke •of Edinburgh :took up his abode on the occasion of his ivisit at what is now the clubhouse. ; AUCKLAND, March 22. ; Mr John Holmes returned from Rotorua to-night. Ho reports that the people at Rotorua are enthusiastic in arranging for the reception of the Duke and Duchess. A large public meeting last night decided to send round a subscription list to defray the whole cost of the reception. Mr Holmes leaves for Wellington on Sunday, arriving On Monday night.
