CYCLING.
LEAGUE OF WHEELMEN. PEZSB ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHURCH, March 19. . At last night’s meeting of the Council of the League of Wheelmen, a letter was received from. Martin, the American cyclist now in Australia, stating that he could not leave Melbourne before the 23rd April, but would' be prepared to stay for four weeks if sufficient inducements wore forthcoming, and arrangements were made with the other centres for him to race. Lawson and Chapman, also American riders, asked for expenses for themselves and trainer. It was decided to place the offers before the local cluks. The council decided to endorse the action of the Southland centre in suspending Sutherland for fourteen .days for abusive language.
