CRICKET.

There were no senior cup matches on Saturday. The second-class match Wellington v. Wellington College 1., was played at the College Ground on Saturday. The scores were : —College,, first innings, 153 (Wills 32, Sprott 15, Beard 58, A. tiiiokip 17, Bcechey 13). . Second inning*, 191 (Sprott 10, Barraud 59, W. R. Parkinson 21, Macintosh 11, Ingles not out 50). Wellington, first innings, 80 (Dunlop 15, M. Luckie 17, Bartlett 10). Second innings, 147 for one wicket (Jfeunsell not out 74, Pavitt not out 42). Maunsoll and Pavitt both gave a fine exhibition of cricket. It is not probable that the match will be finished. In the third-class match at Athletic Park between Phoenix and Old Boys, Phoenix won by an innings and 80 inns. An enjoyable match was played at (he Athletic Park between teams representing John Duthio an 1 Co, and Briscoe, MacNoil and Co. The game resulted in a win for Dufliie’i team by 85 runs on the first innings. Briscoe’s team, batting first, made 48 (Newbold 17. Thompson 11;, and Duthio's responded with 183 (Young 24, Mclntosh 38, Kirker 13. Hickey 12, Dedandes 11, Jack 11, Bell 10, White 10). For Duthie's team Doslandos (two wickets for one run, Hickey six for 26, and Williamson two for 20) bowled well, as did Wiltshire, seven for 49, O'Sullivan one for 17. and Ncwhold, one for 23, for Briscoe’s. In the third-class match, Midland third v. College A, at the college ground, Midland scored 202 (Williams 59, Latta 24). The totals gained by the College team were 56 and 79 (Jordan 25, Denton 14. Speedy not out 17). Midland won bv an innings and 47 runs. The College B v. Karori match, also played on the college ground, was won by the College team by 45 runs. Une scores were; —College!, 76 and 96 (Robison 62, Renner 12); Karori, 38 and 89 (Lowe 29, Hill 16, Mackenzie 16, Williams 12). . Beie, five for 28, and Callender, three for, 6, bonded best for the winners.
