Rounding tho bend Skobelolf improved his position, running alongside ■ Battleaxe, the rest of the field well up. Along the back stretch tho field was well to-p-ether, but rounding the turn lor home ideal. Skoboloff, and Battlcaxo all made ap, effort, whilst Palaver and Materoa were also going strongly. Entering the straight, it was any horse’s race. Idea 1 and Skobelolf coming, very fast, w’th Battlcaxe and Palaver in close pursuit. A slashing race, ensued np the straight.
