GOVERNMENT SECURITIES. The following are the latest quotations for Government securities, and a comparison with those ruling last week:

Tile market rate of discount for best three months' bills is 3-16 lower, at 3.1 per cent. The Bank of t England rate is 4 .per cent., as against 44 per cent, on the 20th February and 5 per cent, on the 6th February. COLONIAL AND OTHER PRODUCE. Wheat. —The markets are quiet, but rteady. The French market is weak. Cargoes are firm. Victorian FebmaryMarch shipments, 29s 9d per quarter; sailer parcels, 28s 6d per quarter. Sugar is steady. German beet, 88deg., unchanged, at 9s per pwt.; first mark, granulated, f.o.b. Hamburg, unchanged, at 10s 101 d per cwt. Butter is very dull. Choicest colonial, 103 s; Danish is recovering, l and is now quoted at 112 s, an advance of 2s since last week. Cheese is flat. New Zealand is quoted at 49s to 50s. Bradford Tops.—-The market is quiet. Common sixties, Id higher, at 18d per lb; super sixties, id higher, at 18jd per lb. Wool.—At the London sales there is good competition, with prices unchanged. THE PRICES OF METALS. Copper is quiet. l Spot, 20s lower, at £69 12s 6d per ton; three months’, 10s lower, at £7O 2s 6d per ton. Tin is dull. Spot, 40s lower, at £llß 5s per ton; three months’, 45s Tower, at £ll4 15s per ton. Lead, 10s lower, at £l3 5s per ton. Spelter, 12s 6d lower,“ at £l6 10s per , ton. Silver—Bar silver is quoted at 2s .4 l-16d per oz. COAL EXPORTS. ‘ GREYMOUx'H, March 17.
