ST All BOATING CLUB, Another heat of the Senior Pairs (Star Boating Club) was rowed over the southerly course on, Saturday afternon. The competing crews were:—N. Gray (bow), I). R. Menijios (.stroke): H. G. Anderson (bow) and AY. H. Rose (stroke). From, the start, Menzies’s crew obtained a slight lead, which they maintained throughout, eventually winning by a length. Mr 0. B. Bendall .started the race, which was judged by Air G 11. Botluuic (captain of tlio club). The final heat, which is between crows stroked by A. Fell and D. R.. Mcnzies, will, take place, on Tudsday evening should the weather prove .suitable. Air J. 11. Morrison, who has been a herd-working member of the commit, tco of the Star Club, having lately been removed to Christchurch, has resigned that office, and. tho committee has appointed Air H. AY. Cooper to fill the vacancy. WELLINGTON ROAVING CLUB.

On Saturday afternoon the Read Fours, in which seven crews competed, was decided, with tho following result— First round-—G. Spencer’s crew beat A. Hill’s; W. Gaudin’s crew , -boat P. James’s ; J. Spencer’s crow beat 11. McKinley's; 0. James’s crew, a, bye. Second round—G. Spencer's crew beat O. Jones’s; J. Spencer’s crew beat W. Gaudiu’s. Final—After a great race, G. Spencer (bow), H. Malier (3), J. Burch (2), M. Campbell (bow), P. Player (cox) beat J. Spencer (stroke), G. Player (3), J. Anderson (S), H. Dixon (bow), 13. Player (cos). Mr J. Price..(deputy-captain) acted as starter and Mr A. J. Bishop as judge. ARAWA CLUB’S CONTESTS. Favourable weather prevailed on Saturday afternoon for tho Arawa Sailing Club’s races.-- The- first heat for the champion pennant of .the present season was sailed by the half-raters. A ‘finely contested race ensued between the Arawa and Dauntless. The other starter, Mr Martin Chapman’s Rum, sailed ■by Mr G. F. Bothamloy, was at a. great disadvantage. It was her first appearance since January, and, consequently, sho ;ivas not in. first-class trim. The times at the finish were'as follows: Arawa, 4hr 51min 16scc; Dauntless, 4hr 52min 19scc; Runt, 4hr 59min 39sec. ’

Tho final heat for Mr E. Sealer's trophy (general handicap) resulted m a win for Sir Barber’s Luna, sailed by Mr Potkerick. This. being her second win Lima takes the trophy. The finishing times wore : ; —Maroro (scr), shr 4min llsec; Luna (ISinin), Chr 14min 24see. Moana. (12mki), did- not finish. Next Saturday four events will be sailed, the first and second-class cruising matches being on the programme for that day.

Tho members of. the Port Nicho'scr, Yacht Club were “At Heme” to their friends en Saturday. At ten o’clock m the morning and half-past two in the afternoon the Duchess took the yachtsmen and their guests over to Day’s Bay. During tho afternoon the Vvaitangi Rona, Ngaire, Rainbow, Maritana, Atalanta, Siren and others ef the whitswinged fleet wero laying at anchor in ! he hay. Ttfb party-,.numbering over 200, sat down to an excellent afternoon tea. The “At Homo’’ resolved itself into a genuine picnic, tho result being that a most en joyahlo time was spent, despite tho ‘act that the weather rvas rather cold. Mr James JB.
