H, G. Thomson was among the competitors at the Auckland Amateur Athletic Club’s meeting last Saturday. He ran well, but unsuccessfully, being second in the 100yds, 300yds, and high jump. Popular Hugh Thomson, who carried the Auckland colours at the championship meeting, was racing at the Auckland Dp-main last Saturday. He ran second in the quarter flat from scratch, and filled a similar position in the 120yds hurdles.

The handsome silver cup presented by Mr Geo. Payne for competition at the Basin Reserve to-day is to- be won right out. The events for which the cup is to be competed for are the 100, 220, -MO, and 880yds and one mile events. The points are, first three, seoniu two, third -me.
