EXTRAORDINARY VERDICT.

It is supposed that as a rule verdicts given are just and reliable, but we sometimes hear of one that is proved to be entirely erroneous by subsequent events. This was the case with the verdict on Mr S. E. Richards, Mining Engineer, of “Ontario,” Nicholson street, Bunvobd; N.8.W., who, in a letter dated Bth March, 1900, says:

“On the Ist September, 1898, I became overheated, then suddenly exposed to a piercing cold wind. I caught a chill, the result being that I was deprived of robust health, and for about seven months my life was despaired of. During this time I had been through the bands of eight medical men in private and public hospitals. The majority of them held out no hope, some of them declaring that ~ had kidney, liver, heart,, and lung troubles. In the Prince Alfred Hospital, Sydney, my medical attendant said I had Bright’s Disease of the kidneys, -that he could do nothing forme, and that I had better bo taken home, as I could not, a'ecover. Rather a dark prospect this, considering that, in addition to the troubles enumerated above, I had dropsy, to a fearful extent. I had been tapped in the lower part of the abdomen five times, several gallons of water being drawn off, hut all to no good purpose. In a few days after being tapped, I swelled up in my legs, abdomen, and stomach, larger than before. The dropsy began to make its appearance in my hands and face. My body swelled to that degree that I sickened to look at myself, and many , times wished 1 could •die. Friends who visited me sympathised and bid me, as they believed, a last farewell. But an angel of mercy came in the shape of Warner’s Safe Cure. A lady friend strongly recommended mo to give up hospitals, doctors and medicines, and take only Warner’s Safe Cure. On the 3rd April, 1899, I began to take Warner’s Safe Cure. As soon as I he. gan to take this medicine my appetite began to return. At the end •or four weeks, when I had drank four bottles of Safe Cure, the water began, to come away. I reduced in circumference around the abdomen from 54J inches to 41-J inches, and my legs reduced in proportion. X felt Idee a new mail. My spirits returned. -1 began to get regular sleep, still reducing in size until not a vestige of lung, kidney, liver, or dropsy trouble could he seen or felt. lam how in the best of health, and am firmly convinced that Warner’s Safe Cure has, in God’s hand, heen the means of restoring my lost health and strength. I would gladly write, talk, or sing the praises of Warner’s Safe Cure, but will conclude by stating that I shall be'only too happy to answer any questions, either by letter or otherwise. I feel I owe a duty to the worlu at large in making known the almost miraculous cure effected in my case by Warner’s Safe Cure. I also feel a deep debt of gratitude to tbe discoverer of Warner’s Safe Cure, and trust this humble, unsolicited testimonial may be made public for the" benefit of suffering humanity. I am well-known all over the Australian Colonies, and my old mining contemporaries will rejoice to learn of my restoration to health.”
