THE PETONE CLUB. The annual meeting of the Petone Football Club was held last evening. Dr Newman,'president of the chib, being in the chair. The balance-sheet showed a credit balance of ,£9 10s, and the balance of assets over liabilities was J3U9. Twelve new members were elected, and the election of officers resulted as follows • —President, Dr Newman (re-elected); vicepresidents, Rev A. Thompson, Dra Perrv and Ross Messrs T. M. Wilford, M.n.R Hinchohffe G. London. A. Saunders. J. Horne, T. J. King. S. Burridge, and H. Findlay; captain. W. King; secretary, H. hleet; treasurer. C. Berngsen; management committee, A. Barlow N W Fraser and the officers, ex officio; 'selection committee, the captain, vice-captain and A. Barlow; delegates to Rugby Union, W. Allender, J D. King and W. King. Officers ot second fifteen—Captain, R. McGolclnck; match committee, W. Fraser and A Bowman. Captain of third fifteen D.’ h rnser. Wednesday team—Captain,’ T. Fhnn; match committee, T. List and W Allender.

It was decided to leave the matter of taking part in the Petone Carnival to the Management Committee; also the arrangements in regard to the opening of the season. Tributes of praise were paid to the retiring secretary, Mr G. Davis, by the chairman and others, for the efficient and energetic manner in which ho had discharged his duties during the last two years. Much of the success of the club it was said, was dije to his efforts. It was unanimously decided to make him a life member of the club.
