CHINA AND THE POWERS
THE MANCHURIAN CONVENTION. (Received March 14, 0.24 a.m.) LONDON, March 13. The Pekin correspondent’ of “The Times” states that China refrains from signing the Manchurian Convention until she ascertains what support the Powers will afford in the event of her. ultimately refusing to sign it. China still refuses to communicate to the Powers the text of the Russian demands.
German troops have occupied the Han-sing-ling Pass, thus securing easy access to the province of Shan-si. Two hundred and fifty Chinese were killed in the fighting.
