MISS CONNELL’S CONCERT.

Miss Connell finished her successful tour of the West Coast of the North Island on Friday last at Palmerston. By special request of Wanganui residents she gave a sacred concert there on Sunday evening. The Opera House was crowded, and the management had to close the doors before the concert began. Miss Connell arrives in Wellington from the' North this evening, after resting for a day at her home in Taranaki. His Excellency the Governor has extended his patronage to the concert at the Opera House to-morrow* nifcht.

Lost night there was another crowd. 1 *! audience at the Theatre Eoyal, where Dix’s Gaiety Comapny is presenting an unusually attractive bill. During the week several new performers are announced to appear. The performance will be repeated to-night. Fuller's Bijon- Company is drawing large houses nightly to the Choral Hall. Last night was no exception, and the audience signified its satisfaction by encoring almost' every item. The Irish national entertainment to be held in the Opera House on Saturday bids fair' to be successful! The best talent available has been secured for the occasion. The box plan is open at the Dresden, where seats may be reserved.

At the New Century Hall this evening a display will be given by the Wellington Association of Spiritualists. A number of <r spirit” photographs imported from England and America wi!) be thrown on the screen. These, are the only photographs of the kind in the colony.
