PERSONAL.
The Premier leaves this morning for Hastings. He will’take part in the ceremony of opening the new Masonic Hail at that place this evening. Hon C. H. Mills yesterday recanaxl a telegram stating that there was an improvement iu the condition of Mr A. Morrison, M.H.E., who has been undergoing a now course of medicinal treatment.
In Chambers yesterday, before Mr Justice Edwards, Mr Samuel Arnold Atkinson, of Messrs Bell, liully, Bell and Myers’s oflice, was admitted ns a barrister and solicitor, on (bo motion of Mr Ernest 8011.
Mrs Mills has just received from Picton a very handsome silver afternoon tea service, bearing the following inscription: —“Presented to Mrs C. 11. Mills by her Pictcn friends) November 13th, 1900.” Accompanying the presentation was a letter from the Mayor (Mr A. P Seymour), in which he said that the presentation was sent as a token of the good wishes of the people ol Picton towards the recipient and Mr Mills, and as a small reminder of the pHv.u.r J which was felt at the latter’s becoming a Minister of Clio Crown.
