1 —— ■ ■ THIRD-CLASS MATCHES. In the match between the College B team and Earori, the latter in their first innings made 38 (Mackenzie 11), and the College 76 (Ward 18, Roberts 16, Avery 10). In the second innings the College made 29 runs for the loss of one wicket (Robertson 17, not out, Benner 12). The College A team met the Midland third and made 76 runs in their first innings (Brodie 25. Fyers 16). When, stumps were drawn Midland had lost six wickets for 144 runs (Williams 38 not out. David 38. Smith 18, Latta 15 notput). Latta bowled best for the Midlands and Jordan for the College.
The Gas Company’s team defeated Hutson and Co.’s representatives by two wickets and 6 runs. Topp scored 15 not out for the Gas Company, and Merrick made 31 for Hutson’s men. Bowling honours fell to Topp and Lingnrd for Gas men and Connell for their opponents. At a committee meeting of the Wellington Cricket Association last night, it was decided to send a team to play tho Hawke’s Bay representative;' at Easter. The game will take place on the 6th and ■* Bth April, the team leaving Wellington on the previous day.
