PXXSB ASSOCIATION. NAPIER, March 8. The annual meeting of shareholders of the Press Association was held today, Mr G. Fenwick, of Dunedin, presiding. Messrs Fenwick and E. WKnowles, of Napier, were re-eleotod ■ directors. Mr J. Bltmdell was elected director in place of Mr L. BltmdeiL Great complaints were made at the meeting as to the delays in the transmission of messages, both in the daytime and at night. The directors intimated that these had become so serious that they intended to ask the Postmast-er-General to do his best to have the matters remedied. From the discussion there appeared to be a general belief that the department had neither enough operators nor wires to keep paos with the extension of business. Mr J. L. Wilson, of Auckland, was elected chairman of directors. AUCKLAND, March 8. : The Conciliation Board gave its findings to-day in tlie dispute between th« Auckland Iron-moulders’ Industrial Union of Workmen and various employers. Forty-seven hours to constitute a week’s work, viz., eight and a half - hours on five days and four ami a half hours on Saturdays. The minimum wage paid to journeymen ironmoulders shall be Is 3d per hour, and to range, plate and agricultural machinery and brassmonlders Is IJd per hour. The award also deals with oymv time, apprentices, preference to unionists (on similar conditions to the award in the carpenters’ caee), and other matters.
