The Rotomahana will go on the Patent Slip for a cleaning on Monday morning, and the Waihora. which has been laid up in Dunedin and is coming up to Wellington on Sunday, will take up her running on Monday, leaving at 5 o’clock instead of seven. It is expected that the Rotomahana will bo able to resume her running on Wednesday next. A copy of very comprehensive tide tables for Victoria 8.C., and Sand Heads. Fraser river, has been received in this office from the Department of Marino of the Dominion of Canada. The tables are based upon direct observation ot the tides, obtained from tide gauges erected at the above places. The gauges are self-registering, and are kept in continuous operation, night and day, throughout the year. They are then reduced by the latest method of analysis in use in the Nautical Almanac Office, London.

The barque Lorraine will get away for LondoA early next week. The topsail schooner Eonga left Lyttelton for this port yesterday with a load of produce. The Aorere. which steamed out from Patea for Waitara yesterday, hncl to put back, owing to rough north-westerly weather. and returned to Patea to load for Wellington direct. Thick southeriy weather set in yesterday afternoon. ‘ In the Straits and around the const a strong gale was blowing from the South. The weather interfered somewhat with work on the wharf,, also disorganising the time-table of some of the mosquito fleet. The Drnmblair, which is expected to sail for London to-morrow, is loaded with 9071 hales of wool, 1.9 casks of tallow and ten tons of steel on account of Mr G. H. Scales, of this city. The barque Saxon,-which went out to the stream yesterday, should get away to London to-day. She has a cargo of 8100 bales of wool.

The Herald arrived in port at 8 a.m, yesterday, and got away again for Greymciuth an hour later.

The Hanpiri went on the Patent Slip yesterday morning te have her bottom cleaned. While lying at the Jervois quay Wharf having her propeller seen to the Hanniri got a_ thorough overhauling, and was improved in one or two necessary particulars. One great improvement made was the removal of her forward deck houses, which did not add to her safety when West Coast rivers were being navigated in windy weather. She will not he ready to resume work till the middle of next week.
