WANGANUI J.C. AUTUMN MEETING.

The Wanganui Cup Meeting opens today, and will bo continued to-morrow. The following horses should run well in their engagements on tho first day: ■ — Stewards’ Stakes—The Ifempio. Handicap Hurdles—Waiwera. First Hack Hurdles —Sudor. Wanganui Cup—Renown. President’s Welter—The Hempie. First Hack Flat—Waterford. Flying Handicap—Ostiak. Laurestina has been scratched for all engagements. V.R.C. AUTUMN MEETING. The Victoria Racing Club’s Meeting will be continued at Flemiagton to-day. Tho principal events are —us Champion Stakes, throe miles, in which Advance is engager!. La Carabine, Maltster and Clean Sweep will probably be placed if started. Advance and! Boreas are also engaged in the Autumn Handicap, of 500 so vs, added to a sweepstakes of 10 sovs each, one mile and five furlongs. Boreas also claims engagement in the River Handicap, of 250 sovs. one mile and a quarter. HOROWHENUA HACK RACING CLUB. Horseowncrs are reminded that acceptances for the Horowhenua Hack Racing Club’s Meeting close on Saturday next with Mr C. K. Wilson, hon secretary, Levin. The Levin 'Telegraph Office closes at 5 p.m. E. Gutts arrived from the South yesterday with Sir George Clifford’s Cannie Chiel, who is engaged at the Wanganui Meeting.
