A woman has been arrested in Sydney in connection with the death of the man Conway on board the steamer Talune. A deputation from the Wesleyan Conference now sitting in Wellington waited on the Premier yesterday morning. A first-class Russian cruiser has been ordered to proceed to Melbourne in connection with the opening of the Federal Parliament.
Important speeches concerning the administration of the British War Office were made in the House of Lords by Lord Wolseloy and the Earl of Lansdowne. Further replies from members of Parliament have been received by the Premier concerning the" proposal to despatch « thousand, troops to the opening of the Federal Parliament.
