THE ROYAL VISIT
THE DUKE OF CORNWALL’S VOYAGE-
(Received March 6, 0.24 a.m.) LONDON, March 5. It is understood that the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall, after their visit to Australia and South Africa, will proceed to Halifax, Nova Scotia, cross from there to Vancouver, and return across Canada. Much disappointment is evinced at Penang, in the Straits Settlements, owing to the Duke and Duchess of Cornwall not calling there. THE TOUR OF NEW ZEALAND. PROPOSED ARRANGEMENTS. The following are some particulars of the draft arrangements made by the Government for the visit of their Royal Highnesses the Duke and Dhchess of Cornwall to New Zealand : AUCKLAND. Tuesday, 11th June. —Arrive at Auckland in the morning; reception and presentation of address of welcome. Reception in the evening at Government House. Wednesday, 12th June.—Review ef volunteers in the morning. Citizens’ reception in the evening. Thursday, 13th June. —Leave for Rotorua at about 2 p-m. BOTOBUA. Friday, 14th June.—Visit to Rotorua ; reception by natives. A visit will probably he made to Wai-o-tapu. Saturday, loth June.—Visit to Wakarewarewa, Titiki and the Lake. Leave in the evening for Auckland, en route to Wellington. WELLINGTON. Monday, 17th June.—Arrive at Wellington; land about 3 p.m.; reception and presentation ,ol address. Tuesday, 18th June. —Review of volunteers. Laying foundation stone of Town Hall. Reception at Government House in the evening. Wednesday, 19th June.—Visits dur. mg the day to places of interest. Reception in the evening. Thursday, 20th June. —A short journey by rail into the country may be
made. . Friday, 21st Juno.—Departure for Christchurch. CHRISTCHUECH. Saturday, 22nci June.—Arrival at Christchurch; reception and presentation of address. Citizens’ reception in the evening. Monday, 24tTi June.—Review of volunteers. DUNEDIN. Tuesday, 25th June. —Arrival in Dunedin ; reception aha presentation of address. Wednesday, 26fli June.—Citizens’ reception in the' evening.. Thursday, 27th Juno. —Departure for Australia in" the evening. Arrangements will he made for the school children in eacli centre to take part in the reception of their Royal Highnesses oh their arrival. Only the principal addresses of welcome in the four centres will he personally received, and immediately acknowledged. by their Royal Highnesses. Other addresses are to be handed in, and will he replied to By letter.
