♦ The many friends of the Hon F. H. Fraser, AI.L.C., will be glad to know that his health is showing steady and sustained improvement. Tho Rev W. J. Williams "(Auckland) and Air W. Shepperd Allen (Upper Thames) were appointed yesterday to represent the Wesleyan Conference at the British. Conference, to be held in London on July 23rd next.

At the Mutual Life Association office yesterday, Mr J. R. Morrison, who has been accountant in the head office for the last five years, was tho recipient of presentations from the secretary and staff, on the occasion of his appointment to be district secretary for the association at Christchurch. Mr Morrison left for Christchurch yesterday. A wedding, around which a lot of interest centred, took place at the Kent terace Presbyterian Church yesterday afternoon, the contracting parties being Mr Thomas R. Archibald, of the firm of McLean and Archibald, and Miss Fanny Archer, third daughter of the late Air Joseph Archer, of the Lower Hutt. The bride, .who was attired "in white silk, was given away by her brother-in-law, Mr C. Brooke Taylor. The bridesmaids were tho .Misses Maud and Ethel Archer. Messrs C. B. Archibald and A. B. Thomson, were, best men. The Rev J. K. Elliott performed! the ceremony, and Mr J'. 11. H. Jack, who'presided at the organ, played a wedding march as the -party left the church. A reception was afterwards held at Mr Archibald’s; residence,, Ririe street.
