To prohibit or regulate the erection ot houses not having a frontage to a street and to prevent the overcrowding of ground with houses and shops. 7. To regulate the rales and re-erec-tion of buildings. 8. To appoint fees' payable to the Borough Bund for inspection, superintendence, and other services performed by the Borough Inspectors. WELLINGTON CITY COUNCIL. PROPOSED SPECIAE LOAN. lu the matter of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1000. THE Council of the City of Wellington hereby gives public notice that such Council proposes to borroiv (by way of Special Loan within the meaning of the Municipal Corporations Act, 1900) the sum of Fifty Thousand Pounds, to be expended in the erection of a Town Hall and Municipal Offices on a site owned by the Corporation, situate at the corner of Mercer street and Cuba street Extension, and that the Council proposes to pledge as security for the said Loan the net rents and profits to he derived from time to time from any letting to be made from ) inic to time of the present Corporation Offices and Town Hall Site situate in Brandon and Featherstom streets, anti the buildings thereon, or any part of such offices, site, or building, and from any lotting frqm time to time of the proposed Town Hall and Offices or any part thereof. Xt is proposed that the whole amount of the Loan shall be repayable at the expiration of a term of thirty years, computed from the raising of the Loan. Dated this 23rd day of February. 1901. J. E. IT'S FIERCE. MOST of imr slang terms have been invented for us either in London or New York, but now and again a term comes along from Sydney or Melbourne which catches on. In the meantime they are content with saying Crease’s Al jam is the best in the market, and the people know, for they have investigated.
