SYDNEY RAILWAY ACCIDENT
FURTHER EVIDENCE. (Received March 1. JO.G p.m ) March 1. At the imprest on the victims of the Sydenham railway accident the evidence to-day chiefly dealt with the condition of the lino. The Engineer-iu-ehief of Railways said tho line was in goed condition, hut ho added that ho would he sorry to take the responsibility of naming an engine of the sumo class a.s the one derailed ever the lino at the rate of sity miles an hour. (Received March 2, 0.23 a.m.) . SYDNEY, March 1. The opinion of tho engineer-in-chief is, that tho cause of the accident was the excessive speed of the train.
